Otterly Adorable (part 4)

And now for some videos…

The first video is from the encounter with the sea otter mom and her baby that I got to watch for a while at the Breakwater jetty, it was a bit rainy and windy, but I did the best I could… the video is shaky at times, and I had to replace almost all of the audio. Definitely keep an ear open at about the 3:30 mark to hear the baby squeak to get mom’s attention… plus I am pretty sure at around the 0:55 mark, the baby pees or poops on mom causing mom to push it off, go clean herself up, and then pick up the baby again – hahah!

The second video is from last year when I stopped in Morro Bay and got to see some otters out foraging as well as rafting up for the evening where they wrap themselves in kelp to keep from drifting away while they sleep. I was lazy and didn’t do much with the audio on that one so some clips might be a bit windy or have random car/boat/people noises… I also didn’t put music to that video either. But really the only cool sound in that video is the clacking noise when the one otter is trying to smash open its lunch…

Enjoy…

When I saw them do the kelp wrapping thing, I thought it was amazing. I knew they did it, but to see it in real life was something special. Your video captures it nicely.
