Merry Christmas

I know I haven’t much wanted to celebrate Christmas in the past few years (and this year is no different), but since all of my fellow volunteers on my Timor Leste expedition had asked me to take a group photo of them all holding dive slates with their various ways they wanted to say Merry Christmas to their loved ones, I figured I would use it as my way of saying the same to all of you.

From left to right, we have…

Will O. from England with a simple “Merry Christmas”

Amos (below) and Armindo (in the back) who were our Timorese dive leaders

Taylor, who is currently living in Hawaii with a “Mele Kaliki Maka”

Louise from Australia with a “Merry Christmas Mum”

Natasha from Canada with a “Joyeux Noel”

And on the far right, a nice “Merry Christmas Family” from Ellie, another Aussie

Unable to be in the photo are… volunteers Connor (another American), Amy (from England), and Paul (from France), as well as Antonio (boat captain), Mima (field scientist), Mattheo (engineer), Eva (field scientist), Asiem (field scientist), and Fanny (site manager).

In the background is the keel and propeller from a huge shipwreck fishing boat. The prop is huge and I’ll share a photo of it later.

But for now, thanks for stopping by the blog and sharing these adventures with me. My sincere apologies that I’m not able to celebrate with you. A big thanks to my BV friends for making it possible for me to have an appropriate photo to share today… and lastly.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
